Latifa Bagdouri
The queen of embroidery and dates, Latifa was born in Tetouan, Morocco. As a child, she learned all kinds of crafts from her mother and grandmother. One of these was embroidery.
For years she has created different embroidered products such as table maps, carpets, pillows and more. To Latifa, embroidery not only calms her mind but also trains it creatively.
Her process starts with finding the material. Then she starts with the threads and the images naturally spilling from her heart to the cloth, without any plan. This makes her house now resemble the cave of Ali Baba.
Because she is constantly creating and learning new things, Latifa also makes incredibly tasty filled dates. Each date is carefully decorated and filled with different fillings made from all kinds of seeds, nuts, honey, and dry fruits. The result are dates which melt in your mouth—a truly delectable treat made with much love and care.
