Our story
ESPACETOUS started in 2016 as a collaborative project between Einat Tuchman and Maison de Quartier Liberateurs in Quartier Maritim, Molenbeek.
Back then, ESPACETOUS had a simple yet meaningful aim:
To invite local residents from different backgrounds and cultures into a reflective, imaginative space of exchange in their own neighbourhood.
Since 2016, ESPACETOUS has been exploring how
“art value” and art performance relate to the daily struggles and hopes of people belonging to the same public spaces.
By creating new social rituals amid multicultural differences,
we hope to spark more discussions on democracy,
social cohesion, and equality.
How it began
Talents and needs—In the beginning, Einat collaborated with the artist Ario Aklhadi.
And so ESPACETOUS created more events where people exchanged knowledge with one another
at Maison De Quartier Liberateurs. These always included a food workshop, concluded by a small dinner
prepared and shared together as a community.
