Marche Bildy Market

Marche Buildy Markt" Was initiated by Einat Tuchman in collaboration with Esther Severi the project dramaturg , Juan Cizmar as the articitc and production assistance and the artists Gosie Vervloessem, Martha Balthazar, and Azahara Ubera .

The name Bildy comes for the word in arab Beldi (means local) and building a community.

The first monthly market was installed in 26 of march 2022 . With our partner organizations we collaborated in different ways. With Parckfarm and GC Nekkersdal we started a creative process of developing hand made products with their local participants, products that would be sold at our market. Boostasbl ensured the participation of youngsters from the neighborhood to build and create the market scenography and to participate during the market events. . Kaaitheater, represented by Barbara van Lindt, guided the artistic process dramaturgically, the kaai team helped logistically, administratively and with communication.

The Producers

We gathered a group of 12 producers from the neighbourhood , from different origins and with variety of practices. we had products made of plants from a group of women connected to Parckfarm. products for Potager Partager that is a group of men of Moroccan origins, that have collective gardens in molenbeek. We had some fashion designers , embroidery , jewelries and of course divers food.

Artistic activities

We presented in each market workshops and local performances .

Juan worked mainly with children from the neighborhood (usually in relation to MQ3 and CCM) and developed

a movement program with them. They performed at some market events. Martha Balthasar

installed an interview room where she first asked residents about the neighborhood in general, and

to what they have in common as local residents. She installed a listening zone where

the interviews and the market products were combined. Gosie worked around the hospitality of

the market and how to invite participants into the world of products and local stories.

Azahara worked with a group of women from Nekkersdal and installed a care workshop

and a meeting space on the market.
